A mesmerizing thriller -- told in reverse!

A surprising and utterly original story that blends page-turning suspense with exhilarating imagination as a man goes back in time to prevent a vicious crime from ruining his life.

Nick Quinn is being held in jail, accused of the murder of his wife, Julia. He knows she's dead--he saw her bloody corpse--but he's innocent. A mysterious gentleman gives Nick a talisman that takes him back in time, hour by hour, for a total of twelve hours. With each hour, Nick finds more clues to the identity of the killer, but he also discovers that his actions in the past may have unexpected repercussions in the future. If he doesn't set things right by the thirteenth hour, all will be lost, and his desperate attempts to save Julia's life may lead to a far greater catastrophe than he could have ever imagined.

How did you come to write this book?

I sat down on June 30th 2008 and wanted to see if I could write a book in 30 days. In order to do that I knew I would have to pick a story from a file I keep of one page outlines (as a story teller, I write an outline every day to hone my craft). It would have to be a story that required little to no research so the facts and fun information I include in my books would already have to be in my head. The location would also need to be one I was familiar with as there would be no time to study maps for accuracy.

Most importantly it would have to be original and fun, a story that would compel me to write at least 3,000 words a day; a story that would excite me and flow naturally from my thoughts, experiences, and imagination.

And so I chose the idea I came up with on April 26th 2008. The simple outline of a story told in reverse, a time travel tale of a man racing against time to save the woman he loved.

"The 13th Hour explodes out of the box with pace, verve, intrigue, and an ingenious premise -- a breathless race to stop a murder that has already taken place."
