Amanda Marrone grew up on Long Island where she spent her time reading, drawing, watching insects, and suffering from an overactive imagination. A. When my daughter was a baby, I was rocking her in the middle of the night and looked out her window. I got the image of a girl lying in bed and looking out just in time to see people fly by her window on broomsticks and then land in her back yard. I assumed she was scared, but the story didn't go any farther until a years later I realized they were her friends.
