Bajoran Institute of Science. Bajoran research center. Dr. Mora Pal studied Odo at the Bajoran Institute of Science during the years immediately after Odo's discovery in the Denorios Belt. Odo left the institute in 2365 for the Cardassian space station, Terok Nor. ("The Alternate" [DS9]).
Bajoran Militia. The armed service of the Bajoran provisional government. Kira Nerys was a major in the Bajoran Militia. ("The Darkness and the Light" [DS9]).
Bajoran provisional government. Loose coalition of Bajoran factions that assumed the role of planetary leadership following the Cardassian withdrawal in 2369. The provisional government was headed by the Chamber of Ministers, which was bitterly divided into many factions, each seeking dominance. One of the first actions of the provisional government was to request Federation assistance, a move that was opposed by isolationist factions. This aid included Starfleet operation of station Deep Space 9. ("Emissary" [DS9]). The Bajoran provisional government refused to sanction the rescue of Li Nalas from planet Cardassia IV. When Kira Nerys proceeded with the rescue despite their refusal, they retaliated by removing her from her position on station Deep Space 9. ("The Homecoming" [DS9]). SEE: Jaro, Minister Essa.
